Patrick Joseph died March 19, 2022, in Oakland, CA on the feast of Saint Joseph. Age 77 Patrick was born December 19, 1944, in Oakland, CA. He was the 4TH child and only son of the late Patrick and Rachel Courtney McGee. Preceded in death by sisters, Eileen and Maureen McGee. Loving and generous brother of Sister Patrice, C.S.C. (Sarah) and Agnes McGee. Godchild of the late Mary (Sis) Hallahan. Survived by many cousins here and in England. Pat attended grade school at St Bernard and St. Elizabeth ’59, and graduated from St. Elizabeth High School ’63. Pat served two years in the US ARMY in Korea during the Vietnam war. He retired after working 38 years a mail handler for the US Postal Service. Pat was actively involved in the Catholic Youth Organization, (CYO ) program for the Diocese of Oakland for more than 50 years. He loved all sports and was a huge fan of the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the SF 49ers. Pat kept abreast of things by reading 2 newspapers daily, playing cards and enjoying TV. He was a faithful Catholic and parishioner for 70 years at Saint Elizabeth Church where he attended Mass and served as head usher. Visitation at Coopers Chapel Monday, April 4, from 3 to 7 pm, Rosary 5pm. Funeral Mass at St Elizabeth Church celebrated Tuesday, April 5 at 10am followed by burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery , Hayward, CA . Following the burial, lunch will be served at St. Clement's Parish Hall adjacent to Moreau Catholic High School.
