Antonio “Tony” Ponce passed away on May 20, 2024, at home surrounded by his wife and children. Born on June 15, 1941, in Mesa de los Vega in the municipality of Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico, he was the son of the late Jesus Ponce and Maria Soledad Vega. Tony settled with his family in California in 1977 and built his gardening and landscaping business. He ran his business for over 40 years, beautifying homes throughout the Peninsula region of the Bay Area. He was known for his love of family, backyard tinkering, animals, and especially for the detailed craftsmanship of his gardening. Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Olivia; his children Lupe, Soledad, Olivia, Carlos, and Bertha; his grandchildren Lori, Carlos, Xavier, Maya, and Ryan; great grandson Nader, his sister Lupe Vega, sons in law Carlos, Ted, and grandson by marriage Mario. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Tony, and his brother Jesus. Family and friends may visit June 10, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery & Funeral Center, 1501 Harder Road, Hayward, CA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated June 11, 11:00 am at All Saints Church, 22824 2nd Street, Hayward, CA. Committal will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Forever in our hearts, Tony will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
