It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Adela Holscher (maiden name Sanchez) on July 17, 2025, at the age of 63, in her home of Santa Clara, California. Born to Albert and Adela Sanchez on June 26, 1962, Carmen was the angelic daughter, seventh in succession of ten children, in a family bound by deep mutual love and respect. Her father, a WWII veteran, served in the Navy to secure patriotism, freedom, national unity and security, and her mother who instilled in her the virtues of Christianity, humanity, and compassion that defined her entire life.
Carmen grew up in Oakland, California, and went through Catholic schools K-12, St. Benedicts and Bishop O’Dowd, respectively. She obtained her B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1996 from Notre Dame de Namur University, Belmont, California.
Carmen’s legacy is one of unwavering dedication: as a devoted mother, loyal sister, aunt, cousin, and as a steadfast friend whose influence touched many lives. Her life was a beacon of kindness and love, deeply impacting the lives through her generous spirit, infectious humor, and boundless compassion.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Sean Holscher; Mark Holscher, who is a dedicated father figure to Sean; and Sean’s devoted biological father, Victor Riley. She is survived by many siblings, such as Rose Hansen, Alicia Sanchez, Rebecca Sanchez, and Joseph Sanchez.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Adela Sanchez, brothers Ricardo, Paul (her twin), and David Sanchez; Uncle Andy Lueras, Aunt Rose Lueras, Uncle Leo Sanchez, Aunt Delia Sanchez; and her grandparents Ben and Rosa Sanchez, and Epigmenio and Soledad Meza.
In honoring Carmen’s memory, a funeral service will be held at Sorensen Chapel, 1140 B Street, Hayward, California, on Friday, August 29, 2025, starting at 10 a.m. for Viewing, and 11 a.m. for the services.
