Carolyn Marie Vierra, 85 of Concord, California passed on June 28, 2022, at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, California. She was surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born December 7, 1936, in Oakland, California to the late Carl and Frances Dick. She was the oldest of three children. Carolyn was educated at St. Joseph’s Catholic nursing school in San Francisco. Her career in nursing at Mt. Diablo Hospital in Concord was varied. She worked in Cardiac Care and Recovery units. Carolyn married the late Arthur T. Vierra in 1957 and they had three children: Lisa Adair, Lori Lott (Robert Lott) and Jon VIERRA (Kristine Vierra). She was dedicated to her Catholic faith and participated in many organizations at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill, California. She supported STAND ! For Families Free of Violence and Ellen’s Guild, a social and fundraising support group for the Family Stress Center in Concord, CA. Her passion for Hawaii and the culture gave her joy. She loved Hawaiian hula dancing, both learning and going to festivals. She traveled extensively to the Hawaiian Islands. She loved sharing this passion with family and friends. Carolyn leaves behind brothers Eugene Dick (Roberta Dick), Carl Dick, Jr. Grandchildren Thomas A. Adair (Tati Adair), Olivia Adair, Andrew Lott, Brian Lott. Grand grandchildren Thomas S. Adair, Sophie Adair. A visitation will be at Queen of Heaven cemetery at St. Cecilia Chapel, 1965 Reliez Valley Road, Lafayette on Friday, July 22nd starting at 10:00AM. Mass will begin at 11:00AM and burial to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. A reception to follow the committal at 1:00PM at Christ the King parish hall, 199 Brandon Road, Pleasant Hill, CA 94523.
