Today we honor the life of Eriberto Cisneros, born December 31, 1939, in Bisbee, Arizona, and who entered eternal peace on November 25, 2025, in Hayward, California, at the age of 85.
Eriberto was the beloved son of Enrique and Carmen Cisneros. He grew up in a lively and loving home in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by 7 siblings, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. From a young age, he carried himself with quiet strength, a trait that would define his entire life.
At just 17, Eriberto joined the United States Army. He served honorably with the 82nd Airborne Division as a Combat Engineer until 1960. His service exemplified dedication, discipline, and a deep sense of duty.
After returning home, Eriberto began the next chapter of his life in San Leandro, California, where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Martha Castañeda. One Halloween night, across a crowded dance floor, he saw her and asked her for a dance, a simple moment that changed everything. Though she initially hesitated, destiny reunited them a few weeks later. Their love was immediate, genuine, and enduring.
They married on November 28, 1964, and together built a warm and loving family. Their 3 children, Monica, Eriberto Jr., and Liza, were the center of his world. Eriberto worked as a Project Manager at Cargill Salt until retiring in 2005, providing for his family with care, integrity, and unwavering commitment.
Eriberto’s love extended beyond his children. He was a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren and a great grandfather to 23. To them, he was a source of guidance, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love.
He had a gift for making people feel welcome, for listening with patience, and for offering advice shaped by experience and a compassionate heart. His humor could light up any room, and his presence brought comfort to all who knew him.
A defining part of Eriberto’s life was his passion for the Raiders. He was a proud, die-hard fan, one whose loyalty was not only known but contagious. That passion lives on in his kids, his grandkids, and countless others. His tailgates became legendary around the stadium and were even recognized by professional players. His custom grill, famous in its own right, produced his delicious ribs, a favorite among family, friends, and fellow fans. At home, he found joy in tending to his chili peppers in the backyard, a simple pleasure that brought him great happiness.
Eriberto’s life was a testament to loyalty, resilience, love, and the joy of family. As we remember him today, we celebrate not only his accomplishments but the warmth, humor, and strength he shared with all of us.
Let us take a moment to remember the laughter he gave, the guidance he offered, and the love he shared so freely.
Eriberto leaves behind a legacy that will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and mentor. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in every life he touched.
Let us carry forward his love, his humor, his strength, and his Raider pride, honoring him not just today, but every day.
