April 08, 1962 - November 10, 2023

In memory of Eric Charles Gustafson who embraced life with the guiding principles of Live, Laugh, and Love. After a brave battle with an autoimmune disease affecting his lungs, Eric passed away on November 10, 2023, at 61.

Born in Long Beach, California, Eric’s family quickly established roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. Eric's work led him to Utah and Colorado, but his heart always remained in California. After retiring as a Harris Rebar shop foreman in 2014 Eric returned to California, finding joy in its mountains, rivers and forests.

Known for his infectious laughter, corny jokes, and love of dancing, Eric cherished life's simplest pleasures.

Survived by his beloved dog Juneau, devoted wife Sara, sister Susan Russell, niece Melissa Hasfjord, nephew Clayton Vouk, and numerous extended family members, Eric found immense joy in being called "Papa," "Uncle," and "Tio." His contagious laughter and courageous spirit will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on through the love, laughter, and joy shared by those who knew him.

Visitation services for Mr. Gustafson will be held on Saturday, December 02, 2023, from 12:00PM - 2:00PM, at Holy Sepulchre - St. Michael chapel, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward, CA 94542.

Committal will be announced at a later date, following cremation, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery - San Lorenzo Ruiz section, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544.
