Ernie Manalo Tiglao passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023, after a 10-month long courageous effort to regain his independence from neck injury complications.
Ernie was born in Tondo, Manila, graduated from Torres High School and earned a degree in accounting from University of Santo Tomas. He was 6th out of 9 siblings. He was the “Tito Boy” in the family. He left his career in the Philippines as a banker at Interbank and moved to the United States in 1988 knowing brighter futures for his wife and two sons. He primarily had 2 jobs: Wal-Mart sales associate at the electronics department and an insurance professional for American International Group. He loved sports, especially the game of tennis, which he played with so much passion. He is known for his welcoming personality, infectious smile and enjoyed every gathering and moments with his family and friends in the Philippines and United States.
Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Felicidad “May;” devoted sons Sam and Lionel, and wonderful granddaughters Riley, Lily, Sofia, Salma and Leiya.
The vigil and viewing will be held on 17 November, Friday, from 4pm to 8pm followed by the funeral mass on 18 November, Saturday, at 1130am. Both will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery and Funeral Center Antioch, CA.
