Faustino M. “Jun” Deta Jr.

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the passing of our beloved brother, Faustino M. “Jun” Deta Jr.,  who bravely fought health challenges with unwavering strength and courage. Jun departed from us on November 1st, leaving behind lasting memories of love and caring on his sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, friends, and all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. Jun was the embodiment of courage, confidence, independence, and generosity - qualities for which he is known. While Jun left us, he actually went home to the Lord, and joined Mama, Papa and Ate Tess.

Jun lived a remarkable life inspired by love for travel, culture, and yes, food and wine!  Tennis and outdoor activities added a picturesque backdrop to his lifestyle.  He spent most of his adult life in Northern California where he was surrounded by loving friends who he called family.  His enduring love for his friends extended to his friends’ children and his friends’ parents as well.

Jun was a source of inspiration and joy to all who shared his path in life. His uplifting spirit, infectious laughter, unwavering optimism, and genuine compassion touched the hearts of everyone he met. Despite the challenges he faced, he kept his struggles to himself, unburdened anybody, and approached life with a remarkable sense of grace and resilience, a legacy that will continue to inspire us all.  Jun showed us the true meaning of perseverance and determination during his battle, never letting his illness dampen his zest for life. His unwavering determination to overcome every obstacle serves as a reminder to us all of the power of the human spirit.

While we mourn the loss of my Kuya, we take comfort in the cherished memories he shared with us and the profound impact he had on our lives. We invite all those whose lives he touched to join us in commemorating his life and legacy at a memorial gathering starting at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, November 15 at
