It is with great sorrow to announce that Florence Mary Hynes passed away on March 12th, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Florence was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She was beloved by all of her family and friends near and far.
Florence emigrated from Cork, Ireland to the United States in 1955. She had a long and notable career as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Her career brought her much joy as her heart was most full when she was helping people. She met her beloved husband Martin on St. Patrick’s Day in 1970.
She touched the lives of so many. Florence was a remarkable woman, whose loss will be felt by many. Our memories will never fade.
Florence was predeceased in death by her daughter, Jacqueline Stycinski, her brother Dermont Kent and sisters Irene Kent & Mary O’Regan.
She is survived by her loving husband, Martin Hynes, her children Jeff (Carol) Kashishian, Judi (Dan) Beining, Martin (Trisha) Hynes III, Séan Hynes, Brigid (Lenard) Gutierrez, her siblings, Ted Kent, Anne (Richard, Wendy & Jonathan) Arlt. She is also survived by her grand-children, Erin Portik, Michael Stycinski, Brandon Bleskachek, Jade Hynes, Martin Hynes IIII, Laura Hynes, Taighe Elliott, Declan Hynes, Dominic Gutierrez, Brendan Hynes and Fatima Hynes-Gutierrez. As well as her great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Sagan, Kiera Sagan, Evelyn Bleskachek, Dylan Bleskachek, and her great-great granddaughter Elinor Sagan. As well as many other relatives and longtime friends. She will be eternally remembered by all who loved and knew her.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Funeral Liturgy on Friday, April 5, 2024, 11am at the Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel, 2200 E. 18th St., Antioch, CA 94509. We will start gathering at 10am for visitation time.
