Frank Anthony Gutierrez Jr, born in Merced CA, September 1935 passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Danville, CA on August 6, 2022.

Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Melody Gutierrez, his children, Frank III, his children with Rhonda, Michael (son Levi) and Nichole (daughter Gianna), Camille (Carlo) Di Marco, their children Anthony, Desireé, and Alexandria, and Gregory, his daughter with Dana Perez, Rachel, as well as his siblings Aurora Barboza and Robert Gutierrez.

Frank graduated from Merced High in 1954 and San Jose State University in 1958. Up until the week that he passed, Frank was still receiving phone calls from both his high school and college buddies. Friendships had always meant a lot to him. Following college and before serving in the military, he married his long-time sweetheart Melody.

Upon returning to California, Frank and Melody lived in Richmond, CA where he went into the car business. He started in sales and quickly moved his way into managerial positions. He loved wheeling and dealing, the fast pace, and the people, both clients and colleagues. In 1980, Frank moved his family to Danville, CA, where he continued to run local dealerships until his retirement in 2011.

Frank was an avid golfer especially after retiring. He played every local course, would venture out of town for the day or a weekend whenever he’d hear of a course he just had to play, he had his favorites, and his not so favorites.

Frank and Melody traveled throughout the world, Hawaii, Mexico, Bahamas, Bermuda, Europe. He took his family on yearly vacations and Sunday drives. As he got older his grandchildren were often with him and Melody for Sunday breakfast at the Canyon Lakes Country Club or Brass Door. Frank enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He was looked up to as a mentor by his family and was a friend to many.

Funeral Services for Frank Anthony Gutierrez Jr. Thursday September 1st 7pm Vigil/Rosary, St Isadore’s Church Friday September 2, 10:30am Mass, St Isadore’s Church, Burial, Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery with Reception at Queen of Heaven.
