Garrett William Waters died peacefully on May 3rd, 2020 with his wife, Marilyn, and his two sons, Gary and Jeff by his side. Garrett, who went by Gary, lived a wonderful life. His nephew, Warren Doody, said it beautifully, “This is a wedding photo of my Uncle Gary and Aunt Marilyn, circa 1961. He passed away yesterday at the age of 87, a long, full life, that doesn't make his death any easier to process. Born in New York during the Great Depression, he was a boxer, a veteran, a model, a husband for 59 years, a father to two boys, Gary Jr. and Jeff, and a grandfather to 7 grandchildren. From my perspective, he was a wonderful uncle. He was witty, clever, quick with a joke, and kind. He visited me often through the years in Vermont, in California and in Arizona, and as I process his passing, I am flooded with so many memories that it's hard to fathom a world that he's no longer a part of. Much love and healing to Marilyn Waters, an equally wonderful aunt to me and my siblings and cousins. Rest in peace, Uncle Gary!”
