Gustavo Figaroa – Loved the Lord Jesus Christ, was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend - passed away in his sleep under hospice care at Sutter Delta Hospital in Antioch, CA on Thursday, March 21, 2024.
Gustavo was born to Mary Espinosa in Visalia, CA on February 20, 1939. He attended Brentwood High School in Brentwood CA., there He also met his wife, Roberta Arguelles. He then started his 30+ year career at Fiberboard Papermill in Antioch Ca.
Gustavo and Roberta married on September 5, 1956, and soon after welcomed their first child, John. Shortly thereafter, the family grew to six with the births of Linda, Robert, and Justine. After 42 years of marriage, Roberta passed away on July 23, 1998, and was laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, Antioch Ca.
Gustavo called Antioch CA. home for 60+ years. Through the years, he enjoyed abalone diving, fishing, camping, carpentry, tinkering, gardening, babysitting grandkids, and spending time with the family. Gustavo was an avid Forty Niner and Warriors fan …Oh, not to forget, Gus had an incredible sweet tooth.
Gustavo is survived by his children John Figaroa, Linda and (Randy) Shepard, Robert and (Gina) Figaroa, Justine and (Aaron) Mendez; 44 grand and great grandchildren with 2 great-great grandbabies on the way. Gus is also survived by his siblings, Frank Robles, Esther Dean, David Robles, Salvador Robles, and Margaret Wilson, plus many nieces and nephews.
His family and friends are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Gustavo’s life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.
