In Loving Memory of Honorato Manuel Menezes
(01/14/1951 - 05/20/2024)
Honorato Menezes, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully on May 20, 2024, at the age of 73. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 30 years, Mary Menezes, his beloved daughter, Hilda Newell (Glenn), his adored grandsons, Clay Cuneo (Vanessa), Jeremy Cuneo, and Andy Cuneo.
Honorato had a passion for traveling and photography, and he found immense joy in seeing the country with Mary by his side. He was up for any road trip anytime and anywhere. He also loved his crossword puzzles and could been seen sitting in a chair under a tree with his puzzle book. His easy-going attitude, sense of humor and kind heart touched the lives of many. His warm smile was always welcoming as he would become your friend the first time you met.
In addition to his beloved wife, daughter, and grandsons, Honorato is survived by his brother and best friend, Joe Menezes (Michele), and nephews and nieces, Christopher Menezes (Laura), Jessica Menezes, Holly Rice (Patrick), and Brendan Harris, and many dear friends. He was a loving figure to all and leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Honorato’s service will be held on Monday June 10th, at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 1051 Harder Rd, Hayward, CA. 11am-noon is family viewing, from 12 pm-12:45 pm will be a eulogy and anyone who wishes to speak will be invited to do so. At 1:00 pm there will be a graveside blessing. After that, we will be gathering at the IDES (Portuguese) Hall, 1105 C Street, Hayward, CA for lunch and visiting.
In lieu of flowers, Honorato’s final wish is for our family business to be successful. If you feel it in your heart to support our small business grow and honor Honorato, please reach out to Mary for more info: [email protected], 209-406-3856.
Honorato will be forever remembered for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those who knew him. Rest in peace and fly high my dearest Honorato.
