Joanne is survived by her husband David Shaw, daughter Renae, son Ron, son in-law Gary, daughter in law Lonnie. Grandchildren Brian (Dana), Christopher, Michael (Chrissy), Amy (Jonathan), and Reid; Great Grandchildren Haidyn, Eythan, and Grayson . Preceded in death by son Randy. She also has 3 siblings, Doris Moe and family, Roger Syverud and family and Janice Kohlrusch and family, many nieces and nephew.
She was raised on a farm in MN and had chores such as gathering eggs, and helping her father drive the horses during haying season in the late forties. Her job was to hold the reins and pull back when her father said "WHOA". She was active in 4H and was a princess and rode on the float.
She was married Dec 16, 1956, and moved to CA. On March 7, 1957, they moved back to MN and then to Olympia, WA due to the fact David was drafted into the army. Their first son Randy was born in Olympia. They moved back to CA in 1958, and Ron and Renae were born. She was a hard worker and had many jobs, from selling Avon, working in a machine shop and other odd jobs before she went to work at crest optical, and later became the owner. She could remember every person's name and birthday. She also was very busy with her children's extra activities. Everyone that knew her would always comment on her smile and laugh.
