Dr. John Galli, 82, passed away on September 1, 2022. John was born on June 21, 1940, to John and Bruna Galli in Antioch, CA. John was an outstanding athlete in Track & Field, and Football. John was a member of the 1956 team inducted into the Pittsburg High Football Hall of Fame. He graduated from Pittsburg High in 1958. John continued his studies in Mathematics and Science, earning his Ph.D. in Physics & Electrical Engineering from the University of Idaho in 1974. John worked in Silicon Valley for over twenty years as a technology and engineering leader.
John’s biggest passions in life were his family, and his pets. Over the years, John shared many wonderful travel experiences with his son. In recent years, John’s granddaughters were the light of his life. Throughout John’s life he loved spending time with his dogs.
John was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed spending time researching his family’s history. He also enjoyed outdoor actives, reading, electronics, and was a licensed amateur radio operator from 1957 to present.
John is survived by his son Chris, daughter-in-law Melissa, granddaughters Isabella and Eliana, brother Tim, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Bruna, and his brother Fred.
The family is planning a celebration of life and will notify loved ones in the future when the celebration is scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider making a donation to Animal Rescue Foundation, or Palo Alto Medical Foundation.
