JULIE MARRUJO

Julie Anne Marrujo, née Robles, passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Clara, California following complications from a heart attack. She was 57.

Julie was born on December 5, 1966 to Romy and Maria Robles in Toppenish, Washington. Her family relocated to Idaho and then to Reno, Nevada, where she and her siblings spent the bulk of their childhood. It was there that Julie met the love of her life, Anthony (Tony) Marrujo, and they married in 1985. She soon gave birth to their son before they moved to Tony’s home state of California. They eventually moved to San Leandro, where they’ve lived for over 30 years, and had their daughter soon after.

Julie spent more than three decades working as a medical secretary. She was a bright light of the offices she worked in, delighting both her colleagues and patients with her warm smile, joyous laughter, and good-natured antics. Patients loved seeing her collections of Chevron Cars and PEZ dispensers that she had on display to bring some fun and positivity to their day. She was a brilliant craftswoman who was frequently working in different mediums, known especially for her sewing, knitting and crocheting, and jewelry making. Julie was also an avid vintage Barbie collector, amassing a large curation of dolls, clothes, and accessories that she cherished. Her younger sister and daughter shared this hobby with her and they loved discussing their finds and their own collections together.

An intense love for her country, family, and faith was one of Julie’s most defining characteristics, as well as her incredibly kind nature. Whether greeting family, colleagues, or even strangers while out and about, she had a smile for everyone.

Julie is survived by her husband and her two children, her mother and father, her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, and a very large extended family, all of whom loved her and will miss her deeply.
