Mary Ambrosino

Mary M. Ambrosino
1938-2022

Mary Margaret Ambrosino, passed away on Sunday, September 4th in Antioch. She was born to Italian immigrants, Francisco Ambrosino and Maria Scotto. Mary was the youngest of five siblings; Filomena (Fannie), Mike, Lillian, & Antonette (Ann), all who predeceased her.

She was a rural postal carrier in Oakley for 30 years. After retirement, Mary volunteered at Laurel Elementary School in Oakley for 3 years and continued to volunteer at Vintage Parkway Elementary for 17 years. She loved the students and the students loved her!

When she “retired” from her Volunteering at the elementary schools, she went to the Antioch Senior Citizen Club and worked tirelessly for over 10 years in various capacities. She was honored in 2015 as the Volunteer of the Year and was featured with her picture in the Antioch Ledger, & Antioch Senior Newsletter.

Mary was a fun-loving, feisty, old soul. She enjoyed many trips & visits with her great nieces and nephews. A highlight was her yearly trip to Manchester KOA, her holiday dinners at her sister & brother’s houses, and her trip to Mexico. She looked forward to and loved the trips with the Senior Center, with her last day trip in August to Santa Cruz.

She is survived by many Nieces & Nephews, and great-nieces & nephews, and a plethora of friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to your favorite charity is desired.
