MERCEDES BOLIVIA

Mercedes (Merc) Bolivia, our beautiful, talented and loving mother, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 6, 2024, in Fremont, Ca., after a courageous battle with dementia.

Mercedes was born to Rose and Robert Hernandez (both deceased) on November 23, 1937 in Alvarado (Union City), Ca. Mercedes attended Washington high and that is where she met her husband, Jim Bolivia (deceased) of 62 years. She is survived by her daughters Kelly & Stacy Ann Bolivia. Preceded in death by son Jimmy Bolivia. Her grandchildren, Amanda, Joey, Justin & James Bolivia. She also had 4 great grandchildren, Baby Jay, Valerie, Dylan and Walker.
Merc was also survived by her sister, Sophie Rivers and preceded in death by brothers Bob, Sonny, Arnold Hernandez and sisters Dorothy (Lolly) Delgado and Madeline Rentaria.
Merc is also survived by many loving sister inlaws, brother inlaws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her black cat Snow II, was by her side, especially in the last days of her life at home, sitting and protecting her and providing much love and cuddles.
Mercedes was the backbone to her immediate and extended family. The holidays were always extra special for those who knew her. She made sure to gift all she loved and cared for with her homemade candy. She was the best cook and baker of many delicious desserts, known for her Almond Roca, fudge, cheesecake, peanut butter kiss cookies, pies and many other scrumptious dishes that will forever be greatly missed by all.
Merc took much pride in her work of over 30 years with Tender Loving Care, helping a lot of her older clients with their homes cleanliness and organization for which she made lifelong relationships. To her it was more than a job and she cared immensely for each and every one of them.
We will all miss her very much, as there is a big hole in our hearts without her. Until we meet again, all our hugs, love and kisses.
