Michael was born in Green Isle, Minnesota and the family moved to California in 1939. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Albany, CA in 1944. Michael then served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Far East for three years. Michael then attended S.F. State College and graduated in 1951. He then worked in the construction field for 39 years. Michael met his wife Mary Ann in 1950 when they both sang with the same opera company. They married in 1952 and after retirement were able to travel the world on cruise ships and over land, visiting 74 countries. They both were active members of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Richmond. Michael was also a member of the Knights of Columbus for 60 years and a member of the S.F. Opera Medallion Society. Michael was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ann of 65 years and 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by a sister, Mary, of Chico CA and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to Michaels visitation at St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Richmond on August 2, 2022 at 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Mass to follow at 10:30 A.M. Burial will take place at St. Josephs Cemetery in San Pablo after mass. Reception will take place after burial at St. Josephs Cemetery.
