Patricia (Pat) Esther Hoppe entered into rest on January 21, 2021 in Brentwood, CA. Patricia was the daughter of William M. Harold and Ruth A. (Stranahan) Harold of Oakland. Patricia was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Jacquelyn (Jackie), Ruth (Billie), Catherine (Bobbie) and her brother William (Lil Bill) and her first grand-daughter Emily. Patricia was also predeceased by her husband George R. Hoppe, who had passed exactly 18 years to the day (January 21, 2003).
Pat was born and raised in the Allendale area of Oakland. Most of her family lived either across the street or very close by and they would regularly enjoy family gatherings and picnics together. Patricia attended Oakland schools, graduated from Fremont High in Oakland, and went on to work for companies Signetics and Apple. On February 13, 1960 she married George at Saint Elizabeth’s church in Oakland and moved to Fremont in February of 1963 with their first son.
Patricia was a long-time Fremont resident, where she raised their family. Patricia remained very close with family, cherishing time with her sisters, Jackie and Billie, and their families. She loved organizing large family potlucks and especially enjoyed spending time with her nieces, Darlene, Pat, Sandi and Cheri; whether it was a trip to the store together or just talking on the phone. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts and cake decorating. Patricia was a Den Mother for BSA Cub Scout Den 272 and was very well known as a beloved neighborhood mom, where her son's friends would come over and hang out.
Patricia moved to Brentwood in 2017, where she enjoyed being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone who knew Patricia always commented on the constant warm smile on her face and her love of family and her love of travel. One of her favorite places to go was to the Hawaiian islands with family. One of her more recent trips was to New York, where she got to visit the residence where her mother Ruth lived as well as the house where her husband George was born and raised. Patricia is survived by her sons and their spouses, Ray and (Susan), Rich and (Sonya), Ken and (Erin). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jessica (Wood), Raymond and Matthew; Kayla Billingsley, Joshua and Brieanna; Hannah and Sophie, and by two great-grandchildren, Addyson and Hannah Wood. Patricia is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
