Phyllis Eva Tomasich age 83 passed away peacefully at her home in Martinez, CA on November 16th, 2022. She was the eldest child of Peter and Eva DeMera. Phyllis was born in Oakland, CA on June, 21 1939. She had one younger sibling, brother Gerald DeMera. Phyllis had a son and daughter from her first marriage, Bobby Clements (survived) and Linda Schwarts (deceased). Phyllis married the love of her life Robert Tomasich on June 13th, 1973. They were married for 42 wonderful years until his passing eight years ago. Her other love in life was for travel in comfort, which was indulged by her husband Bob who took Phyllis on 44 cruises during their marriage. Phyllis was a Bookkeeper for Long's Drug Co. for 30 plus years. She was a longtime active member of YLI and attended St. Catherine's of Siena Church in Martinez with Bob for 40 plus years. Phyllis and her husband Bob moved to Martinez in 1977. During her retirement she spent time at the Martinez Senior Center where she did dance classes regularly and spoke fondly of performing for others. She enjoyed taking long walks around her neighborhood. She also continued her and Bob's tradition of cruises around the world. Recently she had just returned from a cruise to Denmark in October and had a trip planned for the Caribbean in January! She was an expert traveler! Phyllis is survived by her grandchildren, Bobbie Sue Halverson of Spirit Lake,ID and Anthony Thomas Clements of Spokane Valley,WA. She is forever in our hearts and will be dearly missed! Friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, 606 Mellus St. Martinez, CA. A celebration of life will follow the mass at 324 Oak Glen Ct., Martinez, CA.
