Raquel Rodriguez, a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and friend, died unexpectedly on January 25, 2022 at the age of 84 in her longtime home in Jingle Town. Raquel outlived her husband, Juan Rodriguez. She is survived by her children, Raquel, Juan, Rosa, Claudia, Salvador and Juan Jesus, along with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was a dedicated homemaker. Raquel was born in Tamaulipas, Mexico to Adela Martinez Vega and Salvador Vega Solis. Raquel devoted her life to care for her parents, husband, children and whomever needed her help. She enjoyed having her family together, traveling and helping others. She was a spriitual woman involved in many church activities. She will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all who knew her. Visitation will be at Cooper Chapel, 1580 Fruitvale Avenue, Oakland, on Wednesday, February 9th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The vigil will start at 6:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church, 2611 E. 9th Street, Oakland, CA at 10:00am with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery, 4529 Howe Street, Oakland, CA.
