Richard “Dick” Kincaide passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, at his home in Dublin, California, at the age of 88. His beloved wife of 60 years, Rita Kincaide (Dierker), was at his side during his final moments.
Born in Wisconsin in 1936 to Lucille Margarette (Knipple) Kincaide and Richard Daniel Kincaide, Dick grew up with two sisters, Diane (Kincaide) Bruce and Kay (Kincaide) Peña. The Kincaide family moved several times during his childhood, living in places such as Oakland and Honolulu, before finally settling in Marin County, California.
Dick graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1958 with a Bachelor of Science in Business. A lifelong supporter of the Cal Bears, he cherished attending football games at Memorial Stadium with his family, where he proudly cheered on his team.
Dick and Rita Kincaide were married on October 4, 1964, after meeting at the Regis Club in San Rafael. Their loving marriage spanned over six decades. Together, they raised their three children in Corte Madera and Larkspur: Timothy Richard Kincaide of Petaluma, Sharon Marie (Kincaide) Rayner of Scottsdale, and Jeffrey William Kincaide of Dublin, California.
One of Dick’s greatest joys was watching his eight grandchildren grow. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and cherished each one dearly: Andrew and Nicole, children of Timothy and Cynthia (Walsh) Kincaide; Claire, Jessica, Justin, and Christian Joseph, children of Sharon and Steven Rayner; and Nicholas and Jordan, children of Jeffrey and Shannon (Ogden) Kincaide.
In 1962, after serving his country for two years in the Navy in the Pacific, Dick began working for his father as the first employee of the Manufacturers Representative Firm R.D. Kincaide, Inc. Over the course of his career, he remained active in the plumbing industry for more than 60 years and earned the esteem and respect of all who worked with and for him.
A devout Catholic, Dick’s faith was central to his life. He was dedicated to acts of kindness and service, touching the lives of everyone he met. He was an active parishioner and lector at St. Patrick’s Parish in Larkspur, and later at St. Raymond’s Parish in Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Dick’s memory.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at St. Raymond’s Church in Dublin on at 10:00am.
