Richard Perez was born at Kaiser Hospital on April 10th 1959 in Oakland, CA. He was the 7th child of 9 born to Estanislao and Maria Del Refugio Perez. Richard was a life-long resident of Oakland CA. He grew up on 40th Avenue in East Oakland. Richard passed away on December 21, 2021 unexpectedly in his sleep in the comfort of his own home at the age of 62. Richard endured 14 years of dialysis. Richard married Lucinda Soares in 1984, fathered two children Richard and Jessica Perez. Richard Perez was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed talking to his children every day on the phone. He would call his daughter 2-3 times a day just to check on her and her children. Growing up Richard enjoyed playing baseball, popping wheelies on his bicycle and learning how to work on cars with his father Estanislao. Richard was a huge Raiders, A’s and Warriors fan. He enjoyed watching them play any chance he had. Richard enjoyed music so much. He listened to a Varity of music, ranging from Santana and War to Motown Oldies to the Beatles. Richard is survived by his children, Jessica and Richard Perez; his grandchildren, Selena and Aiden Paredes; his siblings, Roy Perez, Maria Perez, Irene Perez, Salvador Perez, Silvia Mendez and Tina Perez. Richard was proceeded in death by his mother, Maria Del Refugio and father Estanislao Perez, his brother Manuel Perez and his sister Teresa Contreras.
