ROBERT T. SALAZAR

Robert (Bob, RT) Theodore Salazar passed on March 18, 2024 at the age of 76, leaving behind his wife Rose, daughter Sandra, grandchildren Steve, Nate and Bianca and older brother to Richard Salazar and Ronald Salazar. Robert was the son of Rose Maria and Robert Joseph Salazar.
Bob was a talented professional musician who produced his first recording under contract with Fantasy Records when he was 18. That recording is still available on YouTube under The Tears- Salazar/Salazar. Bob enjoyed playing professionally as “RT Salazar” and sharing his music over the years as he explored many genres from the Beatles, Elvis, Country and Jazz. An accomplished song writer and singer proficient with guitar and piano, he was a great inspiration to his musically inclined brothers Richard and Ronald and his nephew Arion Salazar. He was proud and supportive when his nephew Arion became a member of the band Third Eye Blind as a bass player and back up vocalist in 1996.
Bob lived in the Bay Area all his life and worked for the Oakland Tribune Newspaper and later for the Port Authority in a Security position till retirement.
Bob’s granddaughter Bianca was born with Charge Syndrome disease and his wishes were that any charitable contribution be made to www.chargesyndrome.org in his honor.
He will be missed by all. Bob wrote and recorded a record titled “Comin Up Over the Hill" in the 1980’s…looks like he made it and may he enjoy peace in that valley with the rest of his loved ones. God Bless you Bob.

Committal services for Mr. Salazar will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, from 11:00AM - 11:30AM at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery - Our Lady Queen of Mercy section, 26320 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA 94544.
