Rodolfo Dimalanta

Rodolfo Ventura Dimalanta, 81, of Pittsburg, California passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024. Born on February 13, 1943, son to Felipe Dimalanta and Brigida Dimalanta, Rodolfo was a beloved son, oldest brother to 9 siblings, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. Throughout his life, Rodolfo was known for his dedication and hard work. He began his professional career in the Philippines as a Civil Engineer in 1965. Most notably, he was the first college graduate in his family and first ever professional of his ‘barrio’ within the town of Calasiao, Pangasinan, Philippines. Having aspirations to work in America, he eventually arrived in America in 1968, where his work took him to places like Seattle, Denver, San Diego, and eventually settling in Northern California. In the late-70s, he established a survey and civil engineering firm wherein he employed up to 6 people at its peak. His work ethic, integrity, and passion were an inspiration to all who knew him, and he continued efforts as principal engineer of his firm until 2010 Outside of his professional life, Rodolfo had a wide range of interests and hobbies. He enjoyed playing golf, and sought joy and fulfillment in the simple pleasures of life like making others laugh or going out of his way to ensure those around him felt comfortable. He cherished spending time with family, creating lasting memories with those he loved most. Rodolfo will be remembered for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and profound love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and resilience that will continue to inspire us all. He is survived by Camila Dimalanta, his loving wife of 53 years; his children, Roy, Rodney, Mark; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Mitchell, Jackson, Ryan, Katy, and Sean; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. A celebration of Rodolfo’s life will be held on March 18-19 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1965 Reliez Valley Rd., Lafayette, CA 94549. Though he may be gone from our sight, Rodolfo will live on in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
