Rosario “Chayo” Barajas, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on November 1, 2023, in Antioch, CA at the age of 86.
She was born on February 27, 1937, in Concepcion de Buenos Aires, Jalisco, Mexico. Rosario was a remarkable women who touched the lives of many with her kind heart and unwavering love.

Rosario, affectionately known as Chayo, was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She dedicated her life to her family, cherishing every moment spent with them. Rosario had a special bond with her husband, Jesus Barajas and their love was an inspiration to all who knew them. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Gina Martin, Isabel Carrasco, Lorena Barajas, Berenice Arteaga and Rosemary Viveros. Rosario's nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.
Rosario had a passion for cooking and she delighted in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones. Rosario's happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her family and friends, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured.

A rosary will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 7:00 pm at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Brentwood.

A funeral mass will follow on Monday, November 20, 2023, at 10:30 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Brentwood, followed by the burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch.

The services will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together to celebrate her life and find comfort in one another during this difficult time.

Rosario Barajas is survived by her loving husband, Jesus Barajas, her daughters, Isabel Carrasco, Lorena Barajas, Berenice Arteaga and Rosemary Viveros. She is also preceded in death by her daughter Gina Martin and her grandson Leo Martin.

Rosario will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will forever live in the hearts of those she loved.
