Ruth Elizabeth Landry

Ruth passed away peacefully on March 5th. She was born in Newton Massachusetts to Helen and William Nolan. She was one of 6 children. She graduated from Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic High School. She worked as a secretary to the Jesuits at Boston College.

Ruth married the love of her life, Joseph Frances Landry in 1954. They moved to California in 56, settling in Pittsburg. She worked at United States Steel/US Posco for close to 40 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her three children, 5 grandchildren and three great grandchildren, spending holidays, birthdays & special occasions throughout the year. She enjoyed trips to casinos with her friends, going to the movies, eating out, & attending church. She was a charter member of St Ignatius of Antioch.

She was preceded in death by her son David Landry & daughter Joyce McCoey, her siblings William Jr, Robert & Paul Nolan. Ruth is survived by her daughter Diane Ahlborn (Ed), grandchildren Joseph Ahlborn, Janielle Rios (Anthony), Jennifer Lierle (James), Kristine Grandin (Chris) & Elizabeth Landry, great grandchildren Dominic Rios, Ayden & Kaylee Grandin. Her sisters Irene Egan & Helen McQueeney and many nieces & nephews in California, Texas, and the east coast.

The services will be April 4th at Saint Ignatius Church of Antioch. Viewing is from 9-10:30 with the funeral immediately following. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery 2200 East 18th St. Antioch CA.
