Shirley Campbell

Shirley J. Campbell, long time resident of Hayward and active in Hayward and Bay Area community service, age 92, passed away from complications related to Alzheimer's Disease on April 10. Shirley was born in San Francisco and raised in Dunsmuir, CA, later receiving her BA in Education from UC Berkeley. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Roger. Survived by her loving children Dennis (Teresa), Ron (Cindy) and Sharon, and grandmother of seven grandchildren.

Shirley served as a Hayward Area Recreation District Director 1972-1980 and on the Hayward City Council 1980-1992. She was also active in many other community service roles including, Hayward Council PTA, Project Eden Parents against Drug Abuse, President California Association of Recreation and Park Districts, Bay Area Air Quality Management District Director, founding member of the HARD Foundation.

Services to be held at Holy Sepulchre Funeral Cemetery at 1051 Harder Rd., Hayward on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 10:30am.
