Teresa Ferrari Ventin

Teresa Ferrari Ventin, aged 90, of Walnut Creek, CA, passed away peacefully after a 5+ year battle with Multiple Myeloma on October 7, 2023, surrounded by the love of her family and her loyal caregivers. Terry was born on January 21, 1933 in San Francisco, right smack in the middle of the Depression. At age 12 Terry worked at a local grocery store owned by the Pasqua family. Times were hard. As she earned money, she would contribute to her family to ease their hardships, as well as to invest in her own education. Terry graduated from Holy Names High School and went to work full-time as a secretary/receptionist with State Electric Company. Outside of her job, Terry volunteered with the USO. She loved to dance and socialize. And it was in February 1954, just around Valentine’s Day, that Terry met the love of her life, Richard Ventin. They would marry the following October and spend 69 years together.

Terry was a long-time parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in El Cerrito and active in the Fratellanza Women’s Social Club, the Young Ladies Institute (YLI) and the Italian Catholic Federation. She was a loving wife, mother, Grandma, Nonni and friend to many. Thank you all, for sharing in her life.

Terry is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Anne Wegher Martorello (Charlie Martorello) and Nancy Rounds; grandchildren, Andrew Rounds, Jenna Wegher Greiner (Richard Greiner), Ashley Parr (Ryan Parr) and Juliana Wegher Carey (Allen Carey); and great- grandchildren, Jakob Fish, Grace Fuller, Gianna Parr, Rosie Greiner, Michael Greiner, Ellie Carey and Morgan Carey. Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Giovanni and Tranquilla Ferrari, and sister, Eleanor Ferrari Merrill. Terry lived a long, prosperous life sweetened by her family and friends.
