Virgilio D. Lopez

On the evening of October 13, 2022, Virgillio Danao Lopez of San Ramon, CA peacefully passed away at the age of 75 after a long battle with cancer.

Vigillio was born to Victorio and Felicidad Lopez in 1947. He received his Medical Degree in 1972 from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines. He practiced General Surgery for four years in Manila. In 1978, he married Fe Erlinda (Lynne) Seli. He then moved to the U.Ss in 1980 to join his wife, Lynne and to start a family. Together they raised their only daughter, Vanessa. He practiced as an Internist Hospitalist in Illinois until he retired in 2010.
He was a loving and devoted husband, a doting father and grandfather; loyal and kind to his many friends. He shared his love for Medicine and the needy by joining various medical missions in the Philippines. He also participated in fundraising events of various organizations to help the needy in the U.S. and in the Philippines.

He was an avid fan of James Bond movies and had a collection of them. He loved to go on cruises, road trips, dancing, shopping and partying with friends. For a short moment, he enjoyed his 5 month old grandson Logan's happy and bubbly personality. He was very thoughtful and had never forgotten birthdays and anniversaries. He practiced his Catholic Faith sincerely. He was loyal and honest, spent money wisely, very organized and meticulous with his belongings. And above all, loved his wife and family dearly.

Virgillio is preceded in death by his father Victorio, mother Felicidad and brother Wilfredo. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lynne, daughter Vanessa, grandson Logan Makoa, son-in-law Gary, brothers Victorio, Jr. and Felito and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Wake and viewing with service prayers will be held at St. Michael Chapel at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery on November 8th followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Raymond Catholic Church in San Ramon, CA November 9th
