Wojciech Konopka passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. He was 73 years old.

Wojtek (short for Wojciech) was born in Krakow, Poland, where he learned the fine craft of watchmaking and later became a goldsmith as well. In the 1970s he came to the United States in search of a better life. After some time in New York City, he found it in sunny California. A few years later, he opened a jewelry store in Lafayette, under his family's coat of arms, Novina. For over 20 years Lamorindians trusted their fine jewelry and watches to Wojtek’s talented hands, and enjoyed his great sense of humor and contagious laughter.

Wojtek is survived by his loving wife Yubing Zheng and son Hong Lin.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral service on May 16, 2022, at 10 am at Queen of Heaven Cemetery and Funeral Center, 1965 Reliez Valley Road, Lafayette, CA 94549.
